I've owned about ten different USB drives, and I was describe the DataTraveler 101 as solidly average - but so's the price, so the value is fine. For performance, I get about 4MB/sec write speed and 13MB/sec read speed.This is on a Core 2 Duo processor with a motherboard ASUS. In contrast, my dual-channel OCZ Rally2 gets about 9MB/sec write and 20MB/sec read - but the Rally2 costs twice as much: OCZ Rally2 4 GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive OCZUSBR2DC-4GB Although the Traveler 101 will work for ReadyBoost, I would recommend a dual-channel USB because the write speed for ReadyBoost is important.
